Rich text is a plain column of content with no image of its own: a statement between two image sections, an introduction, a short note from the founder. It is filled with theme blocks.
Where to find it
In the theme editor, click Add section and choose Rich text. You can add it to the home page or any other page that takes sections, as many times as you like.
Layout options
Content width keeps the column Narrow, which is easiest to read, or lets it run Wide. Text alignment sets it to the left or the center. For anything more involved, such as two columns of text, add Group blocks; see Theme blocks.
Section settings
Select the section in the theme editor to see these settings, in this order.

Theme blocks
This section is filled with Masthead's theme blocks: headings, text, buttons, images, videos, products, collections, accordion rows, spacers and groups, in any order and nested inside each other. Theme blocks explains each one. The section holds up to 12 blocks at its top level.
App blocks
Apps that offer app blocks can be added here too. They appear under Apps when you click Add block.
Tips
- A large text block in the Accent font makes a good pull quote between two image sections.
- Add a background image and an overlay to turn a short statement into a full-width moment.
- Use Narrow for anything longer than two lines. Long lines are tiring to read.
