Masthead is an Online Store 2.0 theme for fashion stores, set like a magazine. Sections are numbered like pages, the home page can open on a cover, and products are shown in lookbook stories and editorial spreads. It comes with three presets, and everything on these pages applies to all three.

The three presets

A preset sets the colors, typefaces and shapes, and installs its own home page. You can change every part of it afterwards. Compare the presets.

Masthead Warm paper tones, a light serif and square corners. The default.

Broadsheet Black, white and red with condensed uppercase headlines.

Almanac Soft earth tones, rounded corners and pill buttons.

Start here Getting started From installing the theme to publishing your store, in the order that saves the most rework. Start here Presets Three starting points for the same theme. Each one sets the colors, type and shapes, and installs its own home page. Start here Theme settings The settings that apply to your whole store: colors, type, spacing, buttons, product cards and the cart. Start here Updating the theme New versions arrive through the Shopify Theme Store. Updating is free and does not change your live store until you publish. Header and footer Header Your logo, menus, search, account and cart. Covers the masthead layout, mega menus and when the transparent header applies. Header and footer Announcement bar A slim bar of one or more messages above the header, on every page. Header and footer Footer Menu columns, an email signup, social icons, policies, payment icons and the country and language selectors. Signature sections Cover hero A magazine cover for your home page: one photo or video, a large headline and up to three cover lines. Signature sections Scrolling lookbook story A story told in chapters. Each photo stays in view while the products from that look scroll past. Signature sections Editorial product spread One product set like a magazine spread, with detail images, a pull quote and a form to add it to the cart.
