Recently viewed shows each customer the products they have looked at, so they can find their way back. The list is kept in the customer's own browser, on that device. The section stays hidden until they have viewed at least one product, so first-time visitors never see an empty gap. On a product page, the product being viewed is left out.

Where to find it
The default product template already includes Recently viewed, at the bottom. You can add it to other pages too, such as the home page or the cart: in the theme editor, click Add section and choose Recently viewed.
Section settings
Select the section in the theme editor to see these settings, in this order.
| Setting | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Heading | Text. | The heading above the products. Leave empty to show none. |
| Products to show | 2 to 10. Default: 4. | The most products to show. |
| Columns on desktop | 2 to 5. Default: 4. | How many products sit in a row on desktop. |
| Color scheme | Color scheme. | Which of your color schemes the section uses. Schemes are edited in theme settings under Colors. |
Tips
- In the theme editor the section may look empty. Open a few products in the preview and it fills in.
- Because the list lives in the browser, it does not follow a customer from their phone to their laptop.
