Create your first rule

Set up an age check and choose where it appears.

A rule decides who gets verified, how, and where. You can create as many as you need.

Create a rule

1. Open the Age Shield dashboard from your Shopify admin.
2. Click Create rule.
3. Give it a name (e.g. “Spirits collection · 21+”).
4. Choose a verification method (Yes/No, date of birth, checkbox, or PIN).
5. Pick where it applies — entire store, specific pages, products, or collections.
6. Click Save, then Activate.

Set the minimum age

For date-of-birth verification, set the minimum age (for example 18 or 21). Visitors who don't meet it are blocked from continuing.
